Where can money and high powered friends get you? Seemingly everywhere as Netflix exposes the abusive, criminal world of the talentless renowned paedophile and rapist Jeffery Epstein.
Watching this sick exposé of Epstein’s privileged life created knots in my stomach. I don’t know what is more worrying, the fact that one of his best friend’s is President Trump or the other is Prince Andrew from the British Royal Family; both of which it is suggested may have been a willing accomplice to his nefarious deeds.
One of the most sickening things to contemplate once you have watched this series is how an un-extraordinary grifter infiltrates circles of power and manages to position himself as a ‘pimp’ to the rich and famous. Moreover, how Epstein leveraged power amongst this group to unexplainably avoid prosecution for close to three decades.
Documentaries rarely have “heroes” however it’s easy to pick out a few amongst the cast of contributors who have spent their lives trying to bring forward horrific stories of their ordeals at the hand of Epstein and his sycophants.
Similarly, a shout out to the public sector officials who battled corruption, internal politics and career jeopardising situations to ensure the women involved got a semblance of justice.
Thousands of lives ruined, some of the things you’ll see will make you very angry. Only four episodes long so could be a solution to a rainy weekend.
